October Updates from The Doggy Dojo — New Floors, Health Reminders & More

Happy Friday, Dojo Fam!

I hope you’re doing well and enjoying this perfect sleeping weather as much as I am. Firstly, sincere apologies for the last minute daycare closure today and I appreciate your understanding.

There are a few updates and reminders I’d like to share with you this week.

Flooring Upgrade

We’re upgrading our flooring in the playrooms.

If you’ve been with us since we moved into our current location, you know we originally installed rubber flooring for the comfort of our pups and staff. Unfortunately, it didn’t hold up as intended — and I take responsibility for that choice.

The good news is we’re refinishing our floors with a system designed specifically for dog facilities. It’s durable, easy to sanitize, and built to last. We’re excited about this upgrade and will share photos of the finished product on Instagram this weekend.

Canine Cough and Influenza Vaccine Requirement

We’re entering the time of year when pups are at higher risk for upper respiratory infections. Please don’t send your dog to daycare if they’re showing any of these symptoms:

• Persistent dry or “honking” cough

• Sneezing or runny nose

• Lethargy

• Vomiting

Even with the Bordetella vaccine, dogs can still be susceptible to canine cough. Because of this, we strongly encourage all Dojo pups to receive the Canine Influenza vaccine.

Starting January 1, 2026, this vaccine will be required for all daycare, boarding, and grooming pups. Our goal is to minimize illness and keep our pack as healthy as possible. More info to follow on this front, but let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Thanksgiving Week Boarding

We’re fully booked for overnight stays during Thanksgiving week. If you’d like to be added to the waiting list, please submit your reservation — we’ll contact you if a spot opens up.

Reminders

Class Picture Day Portraits:

Photos from our recent class picture day will be available by midweek. We’ll post a link on Instagram and email you once they’re ready for viewing and download.

Halloween Costume Giveaway:

Don’t forget to send in your pup’s Halloween photo! We’ve already received some great entries and can’t wait to see more. Photos can be emailed to anita@thedoggydojo.com. Winners will be drawn next week.
