The weather is perfect. The pumpkin spice lattes are flowing. The Christmas decorations are on display at Target. Yep – it’s officially fall! The mild temperatures are perfect for spending extended periods of time outside and exploring all that Chicago has to offer in the few blissful weeks before it starts snowing. Just kidding. Let’s be optimistic! After all, there’s a lot going on all over the city in the approaching weeks where your four-legged friend is more than welcome to join you. In fact, your pup will be the center of attention at most of these October dog events in Chicago.
Logan Square Dog Park Community Cleanup Day If you’ve visited the Logan Square Dog Park recently, you may have noticed there’s a bunch of broken glass and garbage on the ground. Not cool! Join in on the Community Cleanup Day at 9am on October 4th to help make the space a safe place for your pup to play.
Fall 2014 Chicago Pug Party After you help clean up the Logan Square Dog Park, head over to the Fall 2014 Chicago Pug Party at Park Tavern. There’s no need to bring a pug to check out the festivities, but the event is pugs only (no other breeds – sorry!). Food and beverages will be available along with indoor off-leash space, karaoke, and pug items for sale by the Milwaukee Pug Rescue.
Okto-bark-fest at Chicago Party Animals Here’s another event for you and your four-legged friend to attend on October 4th. Chicago Party Animals will be hosting Okto-bark-fest at its West Loop location. Your dog will enjoy some indoor, off-leash fun while you mingle and sip complimentary German craft beer. There are separate times based on the size of your dog, and you must join the Meetup.com group to attend.
Perry Dog’s 2014 Fall Fundraiser Help support One Tail at a Time, a no-kill dog rescue serving the greater Chicagoland area at Perry Dog’s 2014 Fall Fundraiser. The event will be held on October 19th at Chicago Party Animals in the West Loop. Attendees will be able to watch the Bears game, participate in a silent auction, imbibe at the open bar, and take pictures in a photo booth. Please note: this event is for dogs 25 pounds and under.
Be sure to save the date for these October dog events in Chicago. Not only will your pup have the chance to socialize and make new friends, you’ll also get to mingle with fellow Chicago dog owners.
