It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror and there’s nothing on my mind but sleigh bells, snow, and Christmas music for the next month. Are you ready for the madness of the holiday season to begin? As if your calendar wasn’t already full of parties and family commitments, there are a bunch of dog events in Chicago you won’t want to miss. After all, your pup should be included in the festivities, too! Whether you’re looking to expand your social circle and meet some fellow canine parents or get some gift shopping done for your favorite dog lover, everything you need to know about getting involved this holiday season is right here.
2014 Houndstooth Ball – December 5, 2014 Two and four legged supporters are invited to join Chicago-based dog rescue One Tail at a Time for dinner, drinks, dancing, and more at the 2014 Houndstooth Ball. Proceeds will benefit the rescue’s foster dogs.
Photos with Santa at The Doggy Dojo – December 6, 2014 Bring your pup to the Dojo for a professional photo shoot with Santa. It costs just $10, and you’ll receive a digital copy of the photo. 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the care and rescue of homeless dogs through A Dog’s Day Rescue.
Paint Your Pet Ugly Christmas Sweater Party – December 10, 2014 Help support the Anti-Cruelty Society with Bottle & Bottega and paint your pet! Bring a photo of your pup to paint an homage to your furry friend with guidance from the Bottle & Bottega artists. Wear your ugly holiday sweater for a chance to win a prize.
Holiday Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale – December 13, 2014 Chicago Canine Concierge will host a holiday craft bazaar and bake sale at Chicago Party Animals on December 13th. The rescues and organizations selling goods will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from their sales. Leashed, social dogs are welcome and there will be a cocktail bar with holiday themed drinks.
Ugly Sweater Party! – December 13, 2014 Join Parker’s, a Natural Dog & Cat Market for its annual Ugly Sweater Party on December 13th. If you can’t make it to the Dojo, this is another chance to get your pup’s photo taken with Santa to benefit a local rescue. Don’t forget to dress your dog up in her ugly holiday sweater, too!
Festive Food for Fido Cooking Class – December 14, 2014 Start a new holiday tradition this year by making a personalized dish just for your dog. The Festive Food for Fido Cooking Class is hosted by Your Pet Chef, who will show you how to make select holiday recipes that you can take home to your pup.
