Fall Dog Events in Chicago
Source: Michael Gil
The official start to fall is coming up on Wednesday. Hurray! We don’t know about you, but autumn is our favorite time of year for spending time outdoors with our pups. Whether we’re taking a long walk to enjoy the crimson trees, jumping in a pile of crunchy leaves, or sitting around a campfire drinking hot cider, we absolutely love the mild temperatures and relaxed atmosphere that comes with the change in seasons.
If you’re looking for ways to be active with your dog as summer turns into fall, you won’t want to miss the events we found below. Each is guaranteed to be a great time and a really fun way to stay social with your four-legged friend as the temperatures start to dip. Here’s our roundup of fall dog events in Chicago.

Hops for Homeless Pets will feature a three-hour sampling of breweries from around Chicago and beyond. The day will be filled with beer, music, raffles, and dog-friendly fun. Those who attend will get to take home a commemorative “Hops for Homeless Pets” sampling glass to remember the event. You can purchase tickets in advance for $40. Dog tickets are $15.
Edgewater Fall Art Fair September 27, 2015 2pm – 2:30pm
Head up north to the Edgewater Fall Art Fair this weekend to check out the work of over 120 artists from all over Chicago. From live music, to local beer, to children’s activities, the entire family will love exploring everything the fest has to offer. On Sunday at 2pm, pets and their owners are invited to dress up in circus attire and decorate wagons and carriers as floats in the Pet Parade & Costume Contest.
Fall 2015 Pug Party October 4, 2015 12pm – 5pm
It’s that time of year again! The Fall 2015 Pug Party will be held at Park Tavern on the afternoon of October 4, 2015. Hundreds of pugs are expected to attend this year’s event to mingle with other flat-faced pups and their humans. There’s no need to bring a pug to attend and socialize. However, there is a strict POP (pugs only, please!) rule if you do choose to bring a canine companion. Admission is $8 per adult, $4 per kid. Pugs are free!
