As devoted pet parents, we seldom want to leave our furry friends behind when we go on vacation. Our dogs are like family, and they’re just as deserving of a weekend getaway as we are! That’s why we’ve decided to start a series of blog posts dedicated to – you guessed it – dog-friendly destinations.
Once a month we’re going to highlight a nearby city that’s particularly welcoming to four-legged tourists. From dog-friendly beaches, to gourmet dog bakeries, to canine boutiques and more, there are a lot of places within a few hours of Chicago that cater to dogs and the people who love them.
First up – South Haven, Michigan.
South Haven, Michigan South Haven is such a beautiful, unique place you’d think you’re looking at photos of Cape Cod. This glorious little beach town is located in the southwest corner of Michigan right on the lake. Sandy beaches, sunset views, a historic lighthouse, romantic bed & breakfasts, and countless cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and attractions make this dog-friendly destination extra-worthy of a weekend getaway.
