Celebrate National Dog Day in Chicago
To help spread awareness about the number of homeless dogs that need to be rescued.
To acknowledge our family dogs for being the awesome companions that they are.
To bring attention to the service dogs that work to save lives, keep us safe, and bring comfort.
Now that you know your dog has an extra-special day on the horizon, you may be wondering what you can do to show your love and appreciation for all those tail wags, sloppy kisses, and Sunday morning cuddles. Well, we at The Doggy Dojo are experts at spoiling our dogs (and yours!) so we thought we’d share a few of our ideas.
Whip up a tasty dog treat Have you found us on Pinterest? We have a huge collection of dog treat recipes your pup will go crazy for. Peanut Butter Bacon Puppy Ice Cream, anyone?
Go to Montrose Dog Beach This summer has absolutely flown by. Have you made it to Montrose Dog Beach yet? Allow your pup to get one last romp in the sand and surf before fall arrives.
Mingle with your neighbors at Lottie’s Lottie’s in Bucktown is opening its patio to you and your dog on National Dog Day. The Anti-Cruelty Society will have a presence and will receive proceeds from the hot dog sales, so eat up!
Play your dog’s favorite game Whether it’s fetch, tug, or Frisbee, set aside some time to play an extra long version of your dog’s favorite game.
Bring your dog to daycare If your pup is like mine, his favorite thing in the world is to play with his buddies at dog daycare. Drop your pup off at The Doggy Dojo for a full day of fun and socializing!
Between the walks, treats, baths, trips to the park, and a toy constantly being dropped at my feet, every day feels like National Dog Day in my house. But don’t get me wrong; I wouldn’t have it any other way! How do you plan to celebrate National Dog Day? Share your stories and photos with us on The Doggy Dojo Facebook page!
