5 Dog-Friendly Patios in Logan Square and Avondale
That being said, we like to think positive thoughts that the weather will eventually be consistently warm (and dry) enough to partake in our favorite summertime activities. If you’re anything like us, this includes exploring the many dog-friendly patios in the Logan Square and Avondale neighborhoods. In addition to the six bars and restaurants we profiled last year (click here to read our 2014 roundup), here are a few more local establishments to add to your list.
Chief O’Neills Pub 3471 N Elston Ave Chicago, IL 60618 (773) 583-3066
While Chief O’Neills Pub doesn’t always allow canine patrons, rumor has it that this Avondale eatery hosts “dog night” on Monday evenings where they open up the side door to the patio and allow you to dine and imbibe with your pup.
Longman & Eagle 2657 N Kedzie Ave Chicago, IL 60647 (773) 276-7110
Come for the innovative, farm-to-table food and stay for the carefully crafted whiskey drinks and cocktails. Longman & Eagle has quickly turned into one of the best spots for a quality bite in Logan Square. Best of all, dogs are allowed on the patio!
Reno 2607 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60647 (773) 697-4234
If you haven’t tried a wood-fired pizza from Reno, we suggest you do so very soon. This American restaurant also offers bagels, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and a full bar. Your dog is invited to dine with you on the patio, which overlooks Logan Square proper.
The Harding Tavern 2732 N Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL 60647 (773) 697-9340
The Harding Tavern offers up a tasty menu of upmarket global eats like wasabi wings and steak frites. The gastropub’s selection of draft beer and cocktails will impress even the most discriminating diner. Dogs are welcome on the patio.
Smallbar 2956 N Albany Ave Chicago, IL 60618 (773) 509-9888
This blink-and-you’ll-miss-it neighborhood bar is one of our favorites in Avondale. Located off the beaten path, Smallbar has a friendly vibe, a rotating selection of draft beer, and a flawless food menu. The patio has plenty of seating for you and your four legged companion!
